About Simon
Simon is a 64 year old man that suffers with Parkinson's. This disease affects the brain and leads to mobility problems such as uncontrollable tremor. Using the computer for him can be very difficult because his condition doesn't allow him to have effective control over the mouse.
He says that the simple action of opening a link can be really frustrating, specially when dealing with particularly small text or objects on a page.
How does Simon cope with this
The most suitable assistive technology for him is the use of "single-key" shortcuts to navigate through the page (usually Tab key) or screen-readers.
How can we help Simon
The best way for us to help users like Simon is not to use small text or small buttons with our links and also to label our links correctly and contextually so they can be found with screen reading technology.
